You will need to take two tests....
Theory Test
The test costs £21.50 and usually has a 3 week waiting list
at the Test Centre. It consists of two parts which are
taken together and must be passed at the same time.
A multiple choice test of 35 random questions taken from a
large question bank, you need to get at least 30 correct.
The second part of the test is the Hazard Perception Test.
The test uses 14 video clips taken through the screen of a
car, you must spot the developing hazards, the earlier you
spot them the more marks you get, the pass mark is 44 out
of a possible 75.
Practical Test
The test costs £48.50 and usually has a 5 to 6 week
waiting list at the Test Centre. On your test day you will
also need a two hour lesson, the first hour is needed to
get you warmed up and get you to the test centre, the
second hour is for your test and then to get you home.
Weekend and evening tests are sometimes available in
summer but the Test Centre will charge you extra for these.
